Well in the spirit of the new year... Here are a few ways I plan to spend my 2009:
Alone... just kidding.. I'm not that "emo" (was that the right usage of this word??)
OK but for real...
1.) Figuring out what I like to do... -explanation- over the last few years, namely the married ones, I have been very absorbed in my relationship with my husband and have forgotten what its like to be me.. by myself.. and now that I'm a totally different me, I have to figure out what I like to do and what interests me.
*A few things I'm thinking for this are
-Sewing projects, like making C some diapers (we use cloth diapers already but I've just discovered patterns and fabric for making them and I'm SUPER excited. I just made an order for a whole lot of fabric that is VERY cute!!)
- Crocheting, I started an afghan for my Grandmommy before she died in May and I had a hard time finishing it, so hopefully I can pick it back up and finish it maybe for C later on down the road or maybe just a keepsake for me.
- I'd really like to take a photography class, i don't have an expensive camera and I'm not that great at taking pictures but hey.. that just means there's more to learn!!
- I'm thinking of getting back into drawing and painting.. I was pretty average in high school, which is the last time i really got into it... we'll see, this one is low on my list i guess.
- I used to make pretty boxes and lots of other crafty things in college for my friends and I think if I get out my 400 lb craft box it'll come back to me, so this is something I'm hoping works out... I really like making stuff for the people around me.

2.) Taking good care of myself, physically, mentally, emotionally.. Well, just in general!
* Getting back into the gym (those extra holiday pounds are taking a toll on me) Blehhh!!!
*Eating healthy.. well just making sure I eat in general is going to be a challenge... I struggle with making sure I eat when the hubster is gone... pathetic i know.
* When it comes to emotional health... making sure i take time for myself and surround myself with friends who are encouraging and fun at the same time. I've got a great group of girls here in Cville and my with my Bff not too far away, I should be set... as long as I call them and remember to keep up my end of the friendship (something I'm not particularly good at when E is gone) I've also got a great family out there who is so loving and supportive (both my side and E's) I really need to focus on keeping in touch with them all and letting them know they are appreciated.
3.) Reading a book a month with E. We picked a few books to read together so we have something to talk about besides how much everything is sucking. :) A few of the ones we've picked are:
-The Love Dare
-The Marriage You've Always Wanted (we've already read it once but we loved it)
-Classic Christianity (again this will be a re-read)
-How to Win Friends and Influence People (for the business minded side)
- Authentic Relationships (another re-read)
as you can tell we like to keep up with what we've already learned... The re-reads are books we absolutely loved and would recommend to anyone anywhere. They affected us on a deep level and we can't wait to go back though them!!
I also plan to read a few books just for me. I'm a HUGE Nicholas sparks fan and collect his books. I am hoping desperately that he releases another fabulous novel in the next 6 months but if not I've got plenty to indulge myself with :) Another book I'm looking forward to reading is 'My Heart's at Home' A book recommended to me by a good friend. I think it will suit me and my life at the point.
** I just have to throw this in.. We went to BAM the other day looking for the books on our list.. we found ONE that's it!! We are thoroughly convinced they do not sell books there.. I'm not exactly sure what they sell but out of long list of books to get they had ONE of them!!***

4.) Becoming a better business owner with my husband. We own an Amway business that i know very little about. I know most of the products, but when it comes to the business side, I'm useless. This is pretty important bc we plan to be financially independent in 3-5 years and this is going to take a lots of work and with E gone its up to me! Seriously We could be there by the end of the year if I knew what I was doing!! So I need to get this ball rolling!! :)
Here's our website! http://www.social-network.mychoices.biz/ Take a look, let me know if you like what you see!! We offer anything from health and beauty to pet food and car washing stuff! The cleaning products are the best of the best, going green is all the rage now, but our products have been green from the start and they are only getting better! We have a multipurpose cleaner that is so fresh you can wash for face with it, and it cleans better than any other cleaner I've ever used. And our disinfectant is so powerful it kills the Aids virus in 5 minute where normal household bleach takes 10. :) Our affiliate health company 'Nutrilite' was the first one out there to make multivitamins and everything that goes in the vitamins and supplements is organic and grown in the simplest and purest way, no pesticides and no chemicals.
Like I said I know the products pretty well, BUT I've gotta work on my business side. :)

Anyway.. I've got a lot to keep me busy for the next 6 months hopefully that pit of self pity and hermit-ness doesn't overtake me, like it usually does! on with the new year... yay for 2009... (can you feel the enthusiasm...)
Word! Peace and Love!!
