Well I commented on a friends blog a few days ago when she took on the challenge, that it IS going to be difficult to not make every blog about my sweet hubby.. So While he is my very best friend I'm gonna branch out and blog about a semi-new friend. Someone I know will become a life-long friend.
Wikipedia defines a best friend as: "someone with whom one shares the strongest possible kind of friendship(s)."
At this point in my life I feel like I have more than one person I consider to be a best friend. They are people I either "do" life with on a daily basis, or one of those people I can just pick up and talk to any time and no matter how much our lives have changed or how long its been since we last talked, the ease and depth of the friendship is still there.
I'd have to say that I really feel like "doing" life with others daily and just being a part of and letting others into your life leads to the long term friendship that no matter what its still there in its entirety. At this point in my life someone I consider to be a part of my daily life, is my good friend Darin. While we've only known each other for about 9 months, (long enough for both of us to have new little babies)! I met her this past January at a Super Bowl party (of all places! haha) at her house. I barely spoke to her, or anyone else, that night because everyone was VERY focused on the game. The next week, however, we joined the small group that, at the time, met at Darin and her hubby's house. I learned that Darin and another girl in the group were pregnant (like I was at the time.. and every other woman on the planet). It took a little bit of time getting to know everyone, and I kind of felt like an outsider because of our "different" views on pregnancy, birthing and really life in general. The more time we spent together we realized that our families were really similar and that we had a lot to learn from each other. We spent time walking together in the last month of my pregnancy. Darin and her hubs came over to help for a bit with Charlotte at the beginning of my 'contractions' with Anabelle. And Darin invited me into her birthing process when she had her sweet girl a couple of months later. It was probably the most A-MAZING experience, other than my own babies. :) And now we are once again walking together WITH our babies and can sit around like cows nursing our babies and chatting about whatever. :) We started a "home-ec" class together (she's much better at it than I am). She's in her home state of California right now visiting family and friends and showing off baby Reagan and I miss them! :) I'm so bored with out them around haha. I am confident in saying that our families will continue to be friends for a long time. We have many more walks to go on and babies to have and memories to make!
So anyway, that's who I picked as "My Best Friend". Tomorrow's blog is about "my crush".. I think you'll be surprised who I chose to write about.. or maybe you wont be. :)
