So, it's rare that I get to be in the car by myself. There are times when E and I go out on dates or whatever, we crank up the music and jam but when its JUST ME.... That's the stuff!!! I Love it!! I can go where I want, I can listen to what I want, Drive how I want, Have the heat set how I want :).... Total FREEDOM!!! My favorite thing to do, and it has been since I got my licence, is to roll the windows down or open the sunroof and crank the heat up high, then blast whatever song just really fits where I am at in life. Right now it's Taylor Swift... Love Story (of course). I get chills EVERY TIME! The last verse (or is it called the bridge).. oh well.. The part where "He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring".... Oh man! (you know you just sang the rest to yourself!!) It just gets me! I get the excited giddy feeling you have when you're dating some body and everything is so new but you're totally feeling it...
I'm such a sucker for Fairy tales! I really think they can happen for anyone. Maybe that's because I've had mine. My life has been pretty tragedy free.. knocking on wood... err, particle board.. I grew up with both parents loving me and never doubting who I am or if I'm loved. I don't have issues with my parents, they have issues, but not that effect me or my family in any significant way. I am a confident girl and know that I've made the right decisions for my life. I met the man of my dreams and he swept me off my feet. He takes care of me financially so that I am able to stay at home with our sweet baby girl. Life is good. We have our squabbles and things we go through but in it all we learn and grow and come out on the other end shinny happy people.
Maybe I should stop bragging...
Anyway, my point is there's nothing like a good love story for me. Nicholas Sparks... Mmmmm he does it so well. I read The Notebook at 16 and have read it almost every summer and sometimes twice. Since then I have collected and read all of his other books. I LOVE THEM.. I enjoy when they are made into movies but there really is nothing like a good book to stir the emotion that the imagination creates.
Music has the same effect for me. Some songs.. man.. they just hit me.. right in my gut! I think that's one of the biggest avenues God has used to speak truth into my life. You know.. those songs you can just listen to over and over and over and over and over.. :) That's what I do at least. I tell my self just one more time as I push the repeat button on my Ipod.. the third, fourth, and fifth times. Then there are the songs you listen to that you know will make you cry. I don't know why it is but when the men are gone.. we're just drawn to them! Sappy country songs are great for this! Or the good cry movies, i.e. Step mom, Steel Magnolia's, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Family Stone. UGH! I think if i watched all of those back to back in one day... I'd just curl up in a ball and never recover! Its amazing what effect the arts have over our emotions!! Movies, books, music!
Anyway, just some randomness, late at night. I'll sleep now since the wee girl gets up at the same time.. no matter when I go to bed!! :)
