Hubz and I took a little vacation out west this past weekend. Since the majority of my travels pretty much extend to Southwest Florida and back, this was the farthest I'd ever been, and especially the farthest west! The trip was interesting...
On our way out we flew through Denver.. SHEW! It was windy!! Most of that flight was spent bouncing up and down and poor E ended up with with marks on his arm by the end of it. I had a tight grip on him and kept asking (since he has been on many more flights then me, and on planes of less quality at that) "Is this supposed to happen?" "This is ok right?" "Are you sure this is normal?" :) Anyway, we landed in Denver with enough of a layover to grab lunch and hop onto another flight into Tucson. That flight was pretty bumpy too but I was used to it.. sort of... We watched Baby Mamma on that flight... HILARIOUS! If you haven't seen it come over and we'll watch it together, its one of my fav's!! The movie made the flight go by quickly and when we landed in Tucson, we grabbed our bags and headed to get out rental car. It was a sweet ride, sorry I forgot what it was, but I just LOVE the new/rental car smell! :) It was one of those that starts by just pushing a button.. it was cool.
Anyway, by the time we got in the car and heading to the hotel, it was getting close to 5 and we had to be at our conference at 7. So we rushed on over to the hotel (which was where the conference was held) and I tried to grab a quick nap before getting ready. It didn't work out very well, I couldn't get comfy enough to drift, I thought maybe i was just excited about the evening... but it turns out we had big issues with our bed... (I'll come back to that later). We were looking pretty SNAZ if I do say so myself :) E splurged and got me a cute outfit to wear *shoes and all!**

We got down to where the conference was and there were lots of people dressed in their best. We were literally among several million/billionaires, and were feeling quite inferior :) It was AWESOME! We met out fantastic 'upline' and they introduced us around. Our table was a bunch of other youngsters in the biz and it was fun chatting with them. During the dinner that was served our upline sponsors came over and asked if we wanted to meet the speakers.. Um.. YES! Meeting Ron and Georgia Lee Puryear and Glen and Joya Baker... WHEW!!! Umm that was huge! And then to hear that 'We've got what it takes to make it', from Ron Puryear!!!
Talk about lighting a fire in our bellies! If you do not know who this man is, google him and the Bakers too... they are amazing people with amazing stories! The point of the evening is to inspire and hear stories of how they got started and how they built their business. It was so amazing, we've listened to them on cd's before and are ALWAYS inspired but to hear them speak in person and see them up there was indescribable! Then to be called up to introduce ourselves as someone who is making a difference in this business was.. WOAH!.. just craziness! *Thanks Gary and Jenifer!* That was a big surprise.
By the end of the night I was soooo exhausted from all the excitement and travelling (not to mention it was past 11) I was about to drop. So we said our 'good bye's' and 'great to meet you's' and E took me to bed. I fell asleep almost instantly and E stayed up watching tv for a bit, I guess the excitement from the evening got him all fired up.. or it could have been the 2 coffee's he had on the plane, the energy drink he had right before the event started or the cup of coffee he had right after dinner... one of those could have done it... :oP
Shortly after 3 I woke up and realized it was dead silent... if you know us, you know that Charlotte sleeps with a sound machine in her room and we have a baby monitor in our room so we hear the sound machine all night too... I could not sleep at all! I tried to turn on my phone *which was NOT dead before i went to sleep* but it was completely dead and wouldn't turn on. So I got out my laptop and turned on the white noise i had in my iTunes, the only problem there is that every 6 minutes it stops for a couple seconds and restarts... UGH! I tossed and turned all night after that! The bed was ROCK solid.. not cool for anyone let alone a preggo with hip issues... The next morning E got up and left the room to let me sleep in for a while... it didn't happen. Man, I was soooo uncomfortable!! So I got up and text him to come back. We got ready and went out to grab some b.fast. We were on our way to IHop, when E spotted a Village Inn, he couldn't pass it up :) He LOVES that place! It was very YUM (not as yum as Ihop's stuffed french toast but whatev). Then we went to meet up with our upline sponsors. They have a beautiful ranch house with 10 horses roaming the property and a couple of pups running around. :) It was great to finally meet and get to know them personally and not just through business! I am so confident now with them behind us, guiding and encouraging us, that we'll be free in no time! Our goal is to be *Platinum* by July.. which means that our income from our business will match that of our military pay. This will allow us to continue to grow while E is gone for a few months and then pick back up when he returns and have a substantial **RESIDUAL** income but November 9, 2011.. our ETS date! Yay!
We went to lunch with Gary and Jenifer and had Mexican food that is still giving me heartburn :oP and then headed back to our hotel for a nap and to get ready for an evening on the town. We went to Cushing Street Restaurant and heard some awesome live Jazz and then to a coffee shop to chat more. I think we got the best conversation in at the coffee shop. The entire day was full of information and uplifting from them and we came home totally ready to get going! After another sleepless night in our horrible hotel (we vow to never stay at a Hilton again) We got up super early and headed to the airport for a day of travel home. We were SOOOOO ready to get home and see our little miss! She stayed with her Mimi for the weekend and apparently didn't miss us at all. :oP We had a loooong flight to Chicago then a good 2 hours layover there. We watched Walk the Line on the long flight and grabbed a great lunch @ Harry Carey's restaurant in the airport. Then hopped onto our last flight HOME! When my mom got there to pick us up C was snoozing in the back so we went back to Mimi's house and I snoozed with C for a little bit then we ate dinner and headed home.... Ahhhhh It feels good to be home.
Now I have to get moving on some business stuff! Don't be surprised if you get a call from us! ;)
