Latest and Greatest at an ungodly hour

Well, here we are.. its about 10 minutes to 1.. AM that is.. Ugh! I'm not really even tired. So I thought I would fill the public in on our final decisions for welcoming Miss Anabelle Ruth into the world.. (when ever that may be) :oP
We have had a couple of appointments since the fiasco with the not-even-a-midwife-overbearing-nurse-midwife. One appointment with an OB and one with a midwife. The ob was alright, she was encouraging in the fact that she patiently listened to our requests and was receptive and up front with her answers. The Midwife we saw today, however, was phenomenal! She not only answered our questions but also mentioned somethings we were thinking of asking with out us even mentioning them. She was positive and open and encouraged us that we can have whatever experience we want as long as mom and baby are healthy, something we have wanted to hear all along. She excused all liability issues saying, that if we were going to sue her that was between us and God :) she had a glorious southern accent and said "Mmmm Kaaaaaayyy" in the same way the teacher or whatever he is on south park said it. :) I kind of fell in love with her.. a little. hehe
We also have had an appointment at what we thought was a birth center up in Kentucky. It is about an hour or so away from home and mainly run by OB's. And actually we came to fine out that when you go in for delivery, you are in a hospital.. not a birth center. The midwife we met with was of course amazing but still a little more strict and under more pressure to uphold certain rules and regulations of the hospital she works for. She answered our questions and we toured the L&d/Mother-baby units of the hospital, and it was an overall pleasant experience. To be able to be close to there without laboring in the hospital we'd have to get a hotel room to labor in for however long before we go in to be admitted, plus change the insurance and the facility was still not as nice as the hospital on base.
So after our appointment today with the most fabulous of midwives, We've decided to go on base. Even though its not my ideal birth its what fits for now and its a compromise that E and I have come to. A happy medium. Especially with our Doula, who we met with again tonight. She's also someone I kind of LOVE! She gets us, he husband is retired military and actually had the same job as E. I know with she and the hubby as my front guards, we'll be able to have a smooth birthing process and it will be exactly what we want and hope for!

Something else exciting is that we came to a decision last week that after Baby A comes and is settled into a good enough routine, I'm going to start Doula training!! Wooop Woop! :) I'm super excited and I chatted with our Doula about it tonight and I'll be able to take my time through the program and go at my own kind of pace. I really can't see myself charging for it. To me its being there for friends or making friends and helping them... it seems strange to charge for that. So, if you want someone to support you and your partner in birth anytime.. I'll be there! Just let me know!

Well that is just about all the news for us. Maybe I'll be able to sleep now..
